A special TADA court in Mumbai today sentenced gangster Abu Salem to life in prison in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case. Four other convicts will also be sentenced today.
Taher Merchant and Feroze Khan, two of the five convicts in the 1993 Mumbai serial blasts case, were sentenced to death. Two others, Abu Salem and Karimullah Khan were sentenced to life in jail.
On March 12, 1993, serial blasts in the city killed 257 and left over 713 injured. Read more here.
